Love, God's Love, Our Love For One Another.

We begin painting our blank canvas with a little bit of pink, red, and purple also a dash of green and orange. Could it be that I Katie is sufficiently in love with God or it is vice versa, God is sufficiently in love with me. Meaning my love for God is enough and his love for me is enough and there is no need to keep on searching. For, his love never fails, never gives up and never runs out on me. Hebrews 13:5.

This February, I would love to share the fruit of the Spirit, Love and God’s Love and our love for one another. Love is something I have always wanted but I have come to understand that love is something we all need in our life; love is something we all desire to receive and to give. Yes, we love our families but there is a deeper desire and motivation and need to discover and find a much bigger and higher love.

We are called my sisters and brothers to serve one another in works of love, how could the love of God live in us, if we do not recognize one of our brothers or sister’s needs? Love is not just words; it is more than that. Like the song, ‘More Than Words, by Extreme,’ what would we do, to show our love, to prove that we have been taught about love, a love that gave up his love for us?

As we journey this February and grow deeper and sufficiently in love with God, let us come together in union because it is when we work together in love and serve others with love, we bring glory to God, through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:15-16, If we live by the truth and in love, we shall grow in all ways into Christ, who is the head by whom the whole body is fitted and joined together, every joint adding its own strength, for each separate part to work according to its function. So, the body grows until it has built itself up, in love.

Fighter!

What I see in the Church today and what I find to be interesting and extraordinary is more women are growing and are giving birth to the sense of being Spiritual Women of God, beautiful , strong and courageous Women of God. It is showing in women’s writings, in their everyday movements, their sexuality in which we can relate to the deep intimacy God desires from us and their passion for union in the eucharist. One thing we can bring Women of Faith and Hope, to our religion experience is our pain, not just meaning through child birth, also meaning being marginalized, rejected, excluded and never been taken seriously and through these experiences we can reach and identify with the outcast and the crucified Jesus.

I wanted to share from A woman psychoanalyst who had worked with Jung wrote and I take this from, Medieval Women Mystics, by Elizabeth Ruth Obbard, editor;

“The feminine in every woman is always waiting. She may not know it if she has more masculine side which is busy with active achievement but I believe that every woman, if she looks deep enough, will find that the essential core of her is waiting…

Her lover emerges from the mists of time and in his wake also does the place where she will dwell. Whether it is near her birthplace or on a distant shore will be determined for her by the love to which she been elected. It could not be foretold or planned. So she needs to wait, and the more conscious women know for what they wait.”

That is why, we should not hold back but to be compelled to cry out what we have experienced, I guess I wish the church would recognize all women not only a select few, but I guess what is in our favor is the sacred oil is always burning in our lamps of love, for our lamps never go out, they constantly burn for all to see and we are the women who will be ready for the Bride-grooms coming. Continue to ignore, reject, no one can ever take away the burning love God has for me and for others in this world. All women matter to God and maybe it’s time to see new faces and to hear new testimonies because each woman is valuable and important, you are so eager to bring back those who are baptized yet you are so eager to reject and to ignore those who are already baptized and who sit in your church each week, waiting and seeking to hear the Good News. The Good News to those women, to those who sit and wait is God has chosen many Women, he has chosen you and me to be witnesses, messengers, disciples, saints and apostles and a Mother who we call the Blessed Virgin Mary to be followers, to go and spread and share scripture our encounters and experiences of God with others. There is always hope, they might catch on and come to understand that there are many women in this world today that are waking up and becoming Women of God and the church should not be picky or judgmental because God loves us all. Maybe this is the year for Women to express more, to bring forth the God who lives in them. You see we are very blessed to have a great fighter in our corner, there is no need to take a step inside the ring for our fighter is greater and stronger, all we have to do Women of Faith and Hope, is sit, wait and keep still, he will always do the fighting and  fight for us.

May God Bless Always, Women of Faith and Hope.

A Month of Love.

Five Finger Ministry Gifts.

'Our Inner Demons.'

‘It might not feel like we can defeat the darkness, nor beat those inner demons by hiding them from the world but we can gain the strength and confidence to face our fears in the eye.’ Author Unknown

Acts 26:17-18,

I shall deliver you from the people and from the pagans, to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may run from darkness to light, from the dominion of Satan to God, and receive, through faith in me, forgiveness of their sins and a share in the inheritance of the sanctified.”

To be possessed means to be possessed by an evil spirit, demon, god or other supernatural force or in owning something, wealth, love or anger, it could also mean being obsessed with our inner thoughts, feelings and beliefs that cause us pain and sometimes we obsess about it and dwell on it and it could also feel as though we are being tortured by it all, haunted by the past,  by the pain and at times letting go of it all is the hardest and the worst thing for anybody to go through especially alone.

“You don’t like the truth coming from my mouth.” The Chicks, from their song, Truth No.2

I would love to tell someone I knew to:

“Be quiet! Come out of him/her!”

Unfortunately, I don’t think I could but wouldn’t it be nice to use the same Power Jesus has or be the example of a new kind of teaching that speaks with authority.  Actually, thinking about it, I was fortunate to tell a priest to stop talking. A couple of years ago, I was called into the Parish office and when I walked in and greeted the Parish Priest, I felt this presence that made me want to run but I couldn’t, I had to sit there and listen to what he had to say to me and the whole time I was so emotional, I believe there was too much energy in the room, good and bad. As we were sitting in the room and tensions were rising, and lots of frustrations, I told him to stop talking and he didn’t understand what I was asking of him and he said; “do you want me to stop talking, I don’t understand, what is going on, what is happening. ” I said, “Yes! Stop talking, I need to focus my mind, my thoughts.” When I think back on that memory or I am shown that memory, I am frantically looking for my Rosary beads, so I wish I had of looked for my Rosary beads and held them in my hands, clinging on to Jesus my protector and savior. I do believe our greatest weapon we have to defeat our demons in life is the Rosary and I am not meaning just reciting the Rosary but I am talking about our Rosary beads.

Who though really likes hearing the truth, especially when that truth is about you? Who likes hearing about themselves or should I say; our flaws or those annoying attributes or quirks? Sometimes, we need to hear the truth so we can face our own personal demons, and we are to make a conscious decision and choose to face, the hardest and the worst things about ourselves. I would rather though want to hear the truth instead of hearing lies and more lies.

You believe in the one God-that is creditable enough, but the demons have the same belief, and they tremble with fear.’

James 2:19

Maybe you are thinking this week we are talking about the devil but God is calling us to do, to be and for a lot of things for example we are called to come to the water, to do work, to repent, believe and to follow. This week, we are being called to hear the hard truth and to suppress those inner demons that are holding us back in the dark and from being able to conquer the light. For it is our light that shines and defeats the demons, for light overpowers and overshadows the darkness. Nobody really wants to battle those inner demons; do you think Jesus enjoyed it, when he walked into the desert for forty days? I guess sometimes we need to take that adventure or go on that retreat to reflect, to grow wiser and stronger in our minds, hearts and spirit.

So, I pray,

God, please have mercy on me, God, I crush myself and I fight myself all day long. I want to say my enemy crushes me all day long but I am my own worst enemy and I know the ones who fight proudly and lovingly against me, they only want what is best for me and I am so blessed and grateful. When I fear, I know I can trust in you and your words I praise. God, I know there is nothing I shall fear, what can I possibly to do to me? So, I ask you God, all day long could you help me to stay on track and when I call on you, can you be by my side and may I walk in your presence God and in the light of the living always. Amen.

Colossians 1:13-14,

Because that is what he has done: he has taken us out of the power of darkness and created a place for us in the Kingdom of the Son that he loves, and in him, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins.

‘Stay strong, Women of Faith and Hope; let us not fear for he will help us through each storm. ‘

May God Bless you and keep you all always.

Here I am Lord!

Is It I Lord, you call? Listen! I hear his voice calling in the summer breeze, in the sight of the trees moving and leaves rustling. Listen! I hear his voice calling when the sky is grey and it starts to rumble, I hear his mighty voice in the wind that is so powerful and peaceful.

One of the most well-known hymns sung in church and is one of my favorites is “Here I am, Lord.” By Daniel L. Schutte & New Dawn Music.

Do you hear the Lord calling in the night?

Will we go if he leads us?

Will we hold his people in our arms?

Sometimes, we will listen and listen again but never quite understand, we see and see again, but not perceive. Each week, The Gospel, is preached to the whole world and this is an invitation for us to respond effectively with true faith.

When we respond and answer the call, we are called because there is always work that God needs each one of us to do. For we are called to speak up for injustice, the unwanted, we are to love one another as he as loved us, we are called to be humble, to put the needs of others before our own, we are to share bread with the hungry, shelter the homeless poor, to clothe the naked. We are made to make a difference in this world Women of Faith and Hope.

God has called us all to a life of peace, we do not need to fear for the Lord guides our steps and makes safe the path, though we might stumble we shall never fall for our Lord holds our hand. There are plans for all of us, plans for peace, not disaster, reserving a future full of hope.

Do Not Be Afraid!

“If you have not yet begun to meditate, I implore you by the love of our Lord not to deprive yourself of so great a good. There is nothing to be afraid of; there is everything to hope for.” Saint Teresa of Avila

When I was reading and researching, Gertrude the Great, Angela of Foligno, Birgitta of Sweden and Julian of Norwich, I couldn’t help it but I felt the passion, intimacy and sometimes ecstasy they had in their Bride-Groom relationship, friendship with Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. The more I kept on reading, the more I wanted to have that special and unique connection to God. Kind of like the movie, When Harry Met Sally and the scene where Meg Ryan’s character is making Orgasmic sounds and the lady beside her said; “I’ll have what she is having.” I can guarantee you, if you read more about Famous Catholic Mystics and these four Medieval Women Mystics; you will be saying the same thing as the lady. “I want what they have or had.”

Here are some other Catholic Mystics we may know of and have heard of; Saint Catherine of Genoa, Teresa of Avila, Saint John of the Cross, Venerable Luis de LA Puente, Saint Francis de Sales, Anne Catherine Emmerich, Saint Faustina and Saint Padre Pio.

Who is thinking? Mystics, sounds like witch craft. I have to disagree with you, if you think like that, each one of us who desires to have a connection with God and whoever would like to experience passion, intimacy and ecstasy, you can too be united with Jesus and Mary in suffering for the conversion of sinners. Does that sound like fun? As sinners ourselves we are asked to pick up our cross in union with Jesus and to continue his work here on earth offering souls to our Father in Heaven. We become messengers of divine love and truth.

Mystics are sensitive beings and this is sometimes seen as a weakness but in fact it’s truly a grace and gift of natural intuition and empathy especially towards those who are suffering, ignored, overlooked, to those who are visibly struggling and who hide their hardships. Mystics sometimes are drawn to these people with generous love. Being a Mystic means you have incredible intuition which may mean you are more likely to recognize God’s voice or presence in others, in all sorts of ways and places that non- sensitive individuals would often overlook and dismiss. Little more trivia on Mystics, those who are highly sensitive might be more susceptible to colds and infections this is probably because their entire being is extremely attuned to both interior and exterior changes.

If our hearts are opened to change and we are ready to pick up our cross and walk with Jesus, than allow him to take over all of you, your mind, heart and soul for there is nothing more we could desire than to be joined in union with Christ in love, passion, intimacy and ecstasy. I want it, I truly want it. Do you?

“This immensity is indescribable and because of it the soul is dying of love.” John of the Cross.

May God Bless Always, Women of Faith and Hope.

Come! To The Water.

The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come.’ Let everyone who listens answer, ‘Come.’ Then let all who are thirsty come: all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free.

Revelation 22:17

“Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”

We say this just before we go up and receive the Holy Eucharist or the Blessed Sacrament. A Sacrament is regarded as imparting divine grace such as; Baptism, The Eucharist, Penance and Anointing of the sick.

‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry; he who believes in me will never thirst. But, as I have told you, you can see me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I shall not turn them away.’

John 6:35-37

For a long time, I thought myself to be worthy of God and that I did not have to work for anything, the life I was leading was sufficient, it was enough to get me through the doors or the gate of heaven but as I draw nearer and closer to God, I understand that I am not worthy to receive the Lord in all his fullness, in all his glory but in true fact, I must work hard, doing good always, making better and wiser decisions because through his rich mercy and his great love I have been, we all have been saved, and deemed worthy to receive our Lord. We are all precious in his eyes, honored and much loved but that does not mean we are worthy or deserve to be saved or to receive the Lord.

As we move and travel closer to God, do we see Jesus as infinitely worthy? A beautiful sight to see, his grace which is given to sinners like us. He our Lord, our God, he is worthy of glory and honor and power because he made everything that exists.

He bids us to come! All, those who are thirsty to come and drink and we shall be filled with the goodness he has to offer. He was baptized not to be cleansed but to cleanse the waters, so the waters cleansed by the flesh of Christ might have the power of Baptism, for all those who come to the water will resurrect with Christ as new creatures that are free from sin and reborn as children of God. We become witnesses and in turn are to give testimony to his ultimate saving grace.

Then it might be possible when we come from out of the waters to hear our God say; “You are my beloved daughter, my beloved son, my favor rests on you.” Mark 1:7-11

Colossians 1:10-11,

So you will be able to lead the kind of life which the Lord expects of you, a life acceptable to him in all its aspects; showing the results in all the good actions you do and increasing your knowledge of God. You will have in you the strength, based on his own glorious power, never to give in, but to bear anything joyfully.

5. he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven,

6. and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

7. from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

8. I believe in the Holy Spirit,

9. the communion of saints,

10. the forgiveness of sins,

11. the resurrection of the body,

12. and live everlasting. Amen.
