Yes, God.

1Theessalonians 3:12, May the Lord be generous in increasing your love and make you love one another and the whole human race as much as we love you.

Say yes to God!

Women of Faith and Hope, we have given the gift of hope, prepared the way for peace in our lives and the lives of others. We have rejoiced! Now, we look forward to the week ahead with love in our hearts, minds, and souls.

We talk, we write, we share and proclaim how God loves us so much, which is so true, we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do all good works. God created the world and God’s love for the world, gave the world his only son and whoever believes in this truth, shall have everlasting life.

What about Mary though?

The coming of God’s salvation (Yeshua- Hebrew) which we will rejoice in, rested on our Blessed Virgin Mary’s obedient act of faith in charity and grace.

Luke 2:19, As for Mary, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Mary was only twelve to fourteen years old and eternal life, that is promised to us rested in the palms of Mary’s hands. She joyfully accepted and became the mother of our Lord and savior.

As daughters, mothers, sisters of Christ, and Mary who became our Spiritual Mother, we must follow in her footsteps. Saying, yes means we have consented to act out our faith, serving humanity, with love, peace and bringing hope and joy to each life because we are willing to do all good works for God and we are willing to work with God to change the hearts of many.

Is yes to God, saying we turn away from our sinful nature?

Or possibly, our yes to God is saying; we believe in your love God for ever and we shall keep your love and our love for you and others always. God did not want to dwell in a building, he chooses to dwell in a Virgins womb and to this day he continues to dwell among us in Jesus Christ.

Women of Faith and Hope, as faithful servants at the beginning of our Advent journey we made the choice to bring hope, peace, joy, and love into peoples lives, we made the decision to walk this path, we put our faith into action and each day we continued to keep giving Christ to the world, to those who need a positive message. May we continue to keep on giving the gift of God always, every day, may it never cease or discontinue.

‘Love thy will be done.’

Luke 1:38,

‘For nothing is impossible to God.’

May God Bless Always,

 Women of Faith and Hope.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Rejoice! Rejoice!

I was at St Mary's Church on Sunday and my children and I went to the toilet and on the back of the door was this quote from Mother Teresa.

1 Peter 1:8-9

‘You did not see him, yet you love him and still without seeing him, you are already filled with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described, because you believe.’

‘The Holy Spirit.’

The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. The purpose of the Holy Spirit on Earth is to strengthen each believer and to pour out power and boldness so that we too become witnesses for Christ. The Holy Spirit lovingly walks with us on our journey, encouraging us, nourishing us and helps to grow the Church.

If you have experienced or encountered the Holy Spirit in your life, could you describe how it made you feel? Would there be any way of explaining the Holy Spirit to someone who hasn’t? What gifts were poured out upon you?

‘The Spirit of the Lord has been given to us, the Lord has anointed us. He has sent us out to bring Good News to the poor, to the broken. Our hearts and souls shall rejoice in our God, for he has clothed us in salvation.’

“Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel!”

From the hymn, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.

Rejoice! Means to feel or show great joy or delight. The biblical definition, to give joy to: Gladden.

Women of Faith and Hope, are we happy at all times? Do we pray constantly for all things giving thanks to God?

If no one has told you lately, allow me too, you are loved, needed, wanted, appreciated, special and a beautiful child of God and we will rejoice and be glad for you my friend, my Sister and Brother in Christ, as well as Jesus Christ our Savior.

As a mother it gives me great joy, to hear and see my children living the life of truth and I do know there will always be trials but somehow, we must grow and learn to treat each trial as a happy privilege and to keep in mind that nothing will ever come between God and us. Our bond is stronger than ever before.

I admire John the Baptist; he was never afraid. ‘The joy of the Lord was his strength.” Nehemiah 8:9, he knew who he was, ‘a witness who speaks for the light,’ he knew his place in the world. Can we comfortably say that too? We too are witnesses who speak for the light? As we grow stronger, we will rise  in the sight of nations, our spirits rejoice in God our savior, our stronghold.

For the Spirit, will always stand among us, this was God's plan for us to be united to him, to be close to him and it's through faith and the sacraments of the church, we come to share in the divine nature.

Well, we are cruising through each week of Advent and this week we celebrate joy.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Women of Faith and Hope,

May God Bless Always.

Preparation!

I was reading my children the book; A Star in the Holy Night, by Mathias Jeschke/ Giuliano Ferri, I wanted to share something from it for this week’s reflection.

‘And you, my child, will walk ahead and prepare the way for him. You will shout to the people’

“Here comes the light that banishes darkness! Here comes the one who has been sent by God. The savior is here and he will lead us to peace.”

So, I decided to also share from the bible;

Luke 1:76-79,

And you, little child, you shall be called Prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare the way for him. To give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins; this by the tender mercy of our God who from on high will bring the rising Sun to visit us, to give light to those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

How is everyone travelling? Our first week of Advent, nearly done and dusted, now onto our second week of Advent and we prepare ourselves for Peace. In fact we are preparing the way for our Lord, and we are to make his path straight. I was reading the Gospel and reading for this Sunday and Women of Faith and Hope, we are messengers and every time we go to mass, we are given instructions to go forth and share the Good News. In some ways, we are that voice crying in the wilderness of this world and of this time. This Advent journey as much as it is our journey towards the infant baby Jesus, its Christ’s journey towards us. Are we longing for the coming of Christ? Yes, we are, we are waiting patiently, hopefully, I believe its touch and go at the present moment, being the last week of school for the year and being so terribly hot. Most of all though we are preparing the way for the Lord and this is the week we read and listen to the Peace God promised us all.

Peace is the way, for our Lord Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. How are we to prepare ourselves and make straight the path for the Lord? I am reminded of the Christmas Carol- ‘Joy to the world’ and the line in the song; “Let every heart prepare him room.” I love that, I really do.

It’s opening our hearts fully, putting our faith and trust in the Lord and not on our own understandings. So than, will you take those steps towards the mountain top to ponder and grow wisely? Are you ready to shout with a loud voice without any fear but with Joy?

‘HERE IS YOUR GOD.’

Isaiah 40:1-5, 9:11

There will always be someone who goes before us, who will eventually watch over us, protect us, as we go along on our everyday journey that will soon lead us to the place which has been prepared for us. Jesus always went ahead and still goes ahead, leading the way for us to follow, we can’t though follow Jesus and stay still, we need to keep on moving, preparing ourselves to meet and welcome God into our lives.

Women of Faith and Hope,

Let us reflect more on the word of God this week, may it be a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. Psalm 118:105, if you are up to it, share the word of God with someone, be that voice on the mountain and shout it out with joy and peace in your heart.

Prepare to meet your God!

Amos 4:12

Someone is following us and is more powerful.

How blest are we though with the Holy Spirit?

May God Bless Always, Women of Faith and Hope,
