The Lord Our Integrity

The Lord our-integrity

Christ is our integrity this Sunday the first Sunday of the Advent season. Over the last 5 months a lot has changed for me and my family, and I am constantly reminded to never take anything for granted and to always be grateful. A few weeks ago, I couldn’t stop thinking about the “Our Father” and when we pray, “on earth as it is in Heaven.” It kept replaying in my head repeatedly until I started to say, “we need to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in this world.”

“Christ has no body on Earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion for the world is to look out. Yours are the feet which he is to go about doing good; and yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.”

St. Teresa of Avila

I hope these words of Saint Teresa of Avila bring you hope this Sunday. Or remind you that we have many examples teaching us to walk in truth, to remain humble and be generous with love. Love for God, love for your neighbour and love for yourself.

When we choose the right path and become the hands and feet of Jesus, we bring people who walked in darkness into the light, we make their gladness greater and their yokes lighter. “For there is a child born for us, a son given to us and the name they give him; Wonder Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:5.

There are many of our neighbours struggling, emotionally, mentally, physically, financially and socially and if I have left out anything please forgive me but all I wanted to say is this Advent let’s keep them in our prayers and in our hearts and may they encounter the hands and feet of Jesus.

May God Bless Always, Faith, Hope and Love by My Mother Rose.
