Blessings are truly for any occasion; we might
offer a blessing before a child plays a game of football or before they sit an
exam. I believe we are all blessed in this life, we have different gifts,
talents, abilities and are capable of so much.
This year we have learnt to trust in God and
aspire and live with the same traits Jesus describes and more than ever the
Beatitudes have great relevance and power to change people’s lives. Let’s
celebrate how it’s a blessing to be able to possess the same qualities as our
Lord Jesus Christ who sends down his grace and peace to each one of us.
We are also blessed to be a cosmic light,
radiant with divine essence after all light is good, it is a symbol of God’s work
in our lives and when I take time to contemplate all his works in my life, I
understand what a blessing it is to die with Christ and rise into new light. As
we approach Advent and Christmas let’s remember that God’s favor is always upon
us and that we are the innkeepers.
Like Mary our mother of God, will our souls proclaim
the greatness of the Lord? Will our spirits exult in God our savior?
On our journey we have been so blessed to get
close to the heart of Jesus, to grow in love, passion and to attain an intimate
relationship with a God who is merciful, a neighbor, a friend, a healer, and Our
Father.
But the greatest blessing of all is coming to the
realization of what family means and how lucky we all are to have people in our
lives that love us, support, and encourage us every day of our lives.
I want to say thank you for a great journey
this year and I am looking forward to the journey next year it’s going to be
very different, new but exciting. I don’t
know where we will head but I know that we will be blessed because the Lord
will be with us always.
